The Deadwood reservoir is cranked right now making for great whitewater on the South Fork Payette Canyon section. One more drenching before sending those kids back to school will have them refreshed and ready to learn.

Rain is filling up the South Fork Payette and the whitewater is in full swing. It is not going to last long so if you enjoy the higher water than get out on the river asap. The PRC crew have been out on the river daily and the guides are ready to get you down safe. As far as summer time goes there will be plenty of water to keep the reservoir pumping through the end of August. The canyon is super green after all the rain adding to the beauty of the SF Payette river.

It's river time:

Owyhee River Trip –Three Forks to Rome
We are launching trips on the Owyhee April 22nd and the 29th.
Each trip will take 4 days and cost $500 per person. This is 50% off the original price. We are doing this to help get the word out about this great trip and to celebrate the Owyhee’s going wild and scenic in 2009. This section of the Owyhee is chalked full of whitewater and has breath taking scenery.

Please be in Lowman April 22nd/29th at 10:00 a.m. We are 2 hours from Ketchum.
You can expect to be back to Lowman April25th/May2nd at 5:00 p.m. We can also arrange pick up in Boise.

We also have a May 6th launch on the lower Owyhee, returning the evening of the 9th.
This section is a nice float with great bird watching.

Prices do not include guide gratuity which is usually 15%-20%.

Payette River Company will provide the following river equipment: wetsuit, splash top, helmet and lifejacket. In addition to this please bring: a fleece or poly pro, visor and sunblock, shoes that can get wet and will stay on your feet such as tennis shoes or sandal with the heal strap. Neoprene socks can help keep you warm as well as gloves. We do have a couple pair of booties that can be used as well and can help with the gloves and socks if you give us enough advance notice.

Please provide your own sleeping gear-tent, sleeping bag and pad. We can rent you these items for an additional cost.

The Owyhee is a high desert river, it can be very hot and sunny or SNOWing in the same trip. So bring sunscreen but also cold-wet-windy weather gear.

Great whitewater is still in Idaho

The canyon section on the South Fork Payette is still going strong! There is still class IV whitewater available in Idaho. Payette River Company is 1.5 hours from Boise and 2 hours from Sun Valley. Hurry before summer passes you by, the reservoir is shut off on September 7th.

Idaho Whitewater at its best in late summer? 'Only happening in one place and that is on the South Fork Payette thanks to Deadwood Dam and reservoir. So if you haven't done anything fun yet this summer its time to head to Lowman and roll down the Canyon stretch and splash off any of your worries with PRC. The river speaks for itself by having more rapids, a hotsprings, a jump rock and a short portage of a waterfall. You can't wrap all of these activities into one day anywhere else but on the Payette. It took awhile but summer finally arrived. We have been enjoying the Canyon section with the Deadwood Reservoir turned on, guaranteeing great whitewater all summer long. Today We have boats on the South Fork Payette's Helende and Canyon Section. Our overnight camp has been a pleasure to be at with it's big sandy beach and the crystal clear river as beautiful as it gets. It really is a special paradise here, we are definately living the dream!!! come LIVE IT with us!

Payette River Company is on river! We have been having a great time on the South Fork Payette. Today we have boats on the Canyon section and on the Helende section spreading out the whitewater fun. We spent the last couple of nights in camp enjoying good food, good music and great people.

Wow ! How can you beat blue bird Idaho days and fantastic South Fork Payette whitewater. The canyon section is sitting at a perfect level with great wave trains and frothy drops. After the rain left, the green scenery has been dark and lush leaving you with a perfect combination of scenery and whitewater.
